Of the nearly 1 million practicing physicians in the United States, only approximately 2% are either Black or Latinx women, respectively. The Mentorship Squad (TMS) is changing the face of medicine by preparing these underrepresented minorities with guidance, resources, and the community they need to complete their medical training and go on to practice. There are over 600 Black and Latinx women through our online network, but we have a lot of work to do to increase our numbers.
TMS provides mentorship through our network of volunteer Black and Latinx practicing women physicians in the United States. Our mentoring services are free, regardless of the number of times you schedule a session with a mentor. You can meet with one or several mentors via email, video, or phone. Our mentors are experienced in all aspects and stages of physician training and development.
If you're a Black or Latinx woman thinking about or currently on the path to becoming a practicing physician in the United States, this organization is for you!
The Mentorship Squad Library is a member-only destination for templates, e-guides, checklists, blogs, infographics, videos, tools and other helpful resources to help you start and continue your path to becoming a physician.
